In Denmark, there are 56 testaments with movables before 1400, nearly half of them from Scania (the diocese of Lund). The peak for Scania actually falls in the Swedish period, from the 1330s to the 1360s, and for the rest of Denmark this increase appears in the decades around 1400. In Norway, I have found 20 testaments with a rather large number of movables from the late 13th until the early 15th centuries, and at least as many with just a few items.21 20 Source: Dataset by Birgitta Fritz. – The curve for “all testaments” includes those with many movables. 21 Myrdal 2014, pp. 220–221 on testaments with movables in Denmark and Norway, based on Erslev 1901 andRegesta Norvegica (Gunnes et al. 1989–2015). Jexlev 1980, p. 37 quantified all testaments in Erslev. The testaments with movables in Erslev 1901 are, with his numbers: 2–4, 8, 10–13, 16–17, 19, 21, 23–24, 27–29, 31, 33–47, 49–92. After 1351 all testaments included some movables. In Norway I have identified testaments with quite many movables in: 1284DN17 878; 1304DN275; 1307DN285; 1320DN162; 1326DN3160; 1336+1337DN1243; 1343DN2255; 1349DN5212; 1349DN5350; 1352DN4359; 1368 figure2: Testaments with movable property 1260–1380 in Sweden (excluding Scania).20
