Epitaph for the first vice president of the Tribunal at Wismar David Mevius (1609–1670) in the cathedral St. Nikolai, Wismar. Condition after the restoration 2006–2010. – Parallel to the Society for Imperial Chamber Court Research, Wetzlar, founded in 1985, a David Mevius’ Society was founded in Wismar in 2004. The aim of the society is to promote the research and popularize the common German-Swedish History in all its facets. Its special interest lies in the comparison between Sweden and its former German provinces. The restoration of the epitaph was the society’s first aim. – Photo: Andreas Mieth.
