how legal actions can end In the matter of the Cologne merchant Hochhausen, the withdrawal of his appeal was certified through the major’s and bailiff's court at the town hall of Cologne, and then sent to Speyer.94 In the dispute of the citizens of Weiler, the “renunciation finalized and judicially certified” (beschehene[n]auch jurato bestätigte[n]Renunciation[en]) was according to the oral reports of the speakermade “optima forma”, i.e. to the records of the court of Weiler, which was submitted to the Imperial Chamber Court files in a notarial certified form.95 The trade court of Lübeck was first involved in the dispute of the bricklayers’ guild of Lübeck, before which the settlement negotiations were conducted and where the settlement agreement was ultimately formally concluded.
